What is National Sorry Day?
国家对不起日是一年一度的纪念日held in Australia on 26 May. The purpose of the day is to recognise and reflect upon the mistreatment of Australia’s First Nations peoples since the arrival of Europeans in 1788. The day also shines a light on Australia’s journey toward becoming a reconciled nation.
Reconciliation ‘Starts With Me’
The colouring sheet contains the words ‘Take Action’, ‘Sorry’ and ‘Starts With Me’, surrounded by a design of Australian native flora.
Once the students have finished, display their work in the classroom to remind them that we all have the ability to take steps to make Australia a more united country in the future.
