- Factors which affect the germination of seeds include the temperature, exposure to light, health of soil and availability of water. ThisBiological Sciencesexperimentallows students to investigate how soil type affects seedgrowth.
- Students follow the scientific method to conduct the experiment, completing the worksheet provided. Observations are also regularly recorded to inform the results of the experiment.
- Students contribute to the experiment design by deciding how much to water the seedlings, where to place them and how to measure growth. Individuals are offered different soil types.
