A fun sorting activity for students to explore interpretation of line in visual art.
Use thisteaching resourcewhen studying theElementsofVisual Artand how artists communicate meaning. Students investigate the idea that line can express a particular mood, emotion or atmosphere. The activity has been designed to provoke discussion about interpretation.
Print, cut and laminate a set of Feelings Cards and a set of Line Cards for each group. Allow the students to sort the cards by matching illustrations of lines with feelings.
