A cute way to keep track of the single sounds that have been introduced.
Use this fun alphabet activity when introducing single sounds to your students.
Each time a letter and/or sound is introduced, students use a single fingerprint using an ink pad or paint. Students then add features to their finger print to create a picture of something that starts with that sound.
For example:
- A – apple (students use a red fingerprint and then add the stalk and green leaf)
- B – bee (students use a yellow fingerprint and then add the black lines, wings, and antennae)
Could you attach a sample of the finished images to the blank pages as well for future reference?
Hi Susie, you may like to check out this blog - It has the finished images.
Why are there tabs on the end of each alphabet strip?
Hi Maria, Thank you for your comment Maria, This is so that you can stick the strips together to make it one long alphabet strip. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Holly
