You’re probably familiar enough with the concept of an advent calendar by now – a calendar used during the holiday season to count down. But did you realize you could borrow the fun of discovering something special every day during the holiday season for a classroom advent calendar?
We came up with classroom advent calendar ideas that will help you manage all that excitement buzzing around your classroom as you lead up to winter break and add a little bit of magic to the days of December too!
Oh, and since we know you can only do so much, we’ve kept it simple with just 10 days of fun … just enough for fun but not too much to add a burden to your plate.
Classroom Advent Calendar – the Countdown is On!
OK, you’re probably familiar with advent calendars that have little boxes with windows that can be opened each day during Advent to reveal a trinket or treat. If you’re feeling especially craft, go ahead and make it happen. But we know you’ve got a lot to get through in these last few weeks before the end of the year, so we came up with a classroom advent calendar display that won’t take a day and a half to set up.
You will need the following:
- Cute holiday-themed decorations (We used ourPaper Bag Holiday Puppets,Holiday Page Borders – Landscape,andHoliday-Themed Letters and Number Pennant Banners – Color)
- 10 manilla envelopes or manilla folders (We used manilla folders cut in half!)
- Some colored ribbon to link your days
- The activities listed below as the items to reveal in each day.
即使它们是可打印的,这些活动不仅仅是工作表。我们选择了一系列精彩的手工艺,茎,识字,数学和动手活动,供您的学生享受!
You can follow our suggested order of activities, or choose your own from our冬季假期资源收集.
(P.S. – it’s not on the list, but if you want to make these adorable holiday puppets with your class, make sure to read Ali’s blogChristmas Craft | Fun with Christmas Puppets!).
